Sure, NatGeo played up the crazy if you only read that <a href="http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/series/explorer/4087/Overview?source=link_tw_02#tab-Overview" rel="nofollow">intro paragraph HuffPo linked to</a>, but it's definitely nothing to get worried about, since the <a>rest</a> of NatGeo's coverage disproves the Mengele connection (records show high twinning back to at least 1927). Most likely one of the very few founders of the town had a predisposition for twins, and, over the years, that predisposition has been distributed to most of the town. Or, ya know, Nazi aliens. That could be it. Oh, HuffPo. It's so cute when you try to discuss science like the grownups.
